Barbara H. Nieman's Obituary
Barbara H. Nieman, age 86, of Pleasant Hills, passed away on June 22, 2025.
Barbara earned her Bachelor's Degree from the University of Pittsburgh and made significant contributions to the field of mathematics and programming as a talented computer programmer. Her career was highlighted by her exceptional problem-solving abilities, and her knack for knowing how things worked elevated her skillset both at work and at home. She was also proficient in sewing, excelling in clothing and upholstery, always bringing her projects to life with unmatched dedication and quality.
In her personal life, Barbara was known for her wit and extroverted personality, thriving in the company of others. She appreciated the joys of life, from playful banter to serious conversations, and she enjoyed spending time out of the house, sharing laughter with friends and family alike.
Barbara is survived by her husband Richard Nieman; children Diane (Russ) Pedersen and Richard W. (Joy) Nieman; grandchildren Luke Pedersen, Liam Pedersen, Alex Nieman, and Zachary Nieman; sisters Suzanne Meyer and Patricia Doughty.
Barbara is preceded in death by her parents William and Helen Ebersole and her brother William Ebersole, Jr.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 29, 2025 from 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm at the Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home, 301 Curry Hollow Road, Pittsburgh, 15236. A Funeral Service will take place on Monday, June 30, at 10:30 am at Pleasant Hills Church, 199 Old Clairton Road, Pittsburgh, 15236. Family asks for everyone to please meet at the church.
