Barbara E. Kohle's Obituary
Barbara E. Kohle, 78, of Baldwin, entered into Eternal Rest on Tuesday, May 16, 2023, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on October 31, 1944, in Pittsburgh, the daughter of the late Francis and Anna (Slater) Meade.
Barbara enjoyed a long career as a RN with the Veteran's Center. She really enjoyed working with her patients and following retirement she volunteered at Jefferson Hospital and Easter Seals. She loved to stay active whether it be working in her yard, tending to the garden, or taking a long walk. Above all, her greatest joy in life was being a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and the time she spent with her family.
Barbara is survived by her loving children, Caroline Flaherty (Kevin) of West Mifflin, Barbara Kohle of South Park, Angela Ersher of Baden and David Kohle of South Park. She is also survived by her grandchildren, whom she adored, Kevin Flaherty, Jr. (Ashley), James Ersher, Jr., Megan Flaherty, Tony Ersher (Jami), Andrew Kohle, and Peter Kohle; great grandchildren, Tony, Jr., Emma, Nathan and Aria Ersher and Tegan and Tre Hall; her sister, Joyce Tambolas (Steve) and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Barbara was predeceased by her beloved husband of 54 years, Louis J. Kohle; her son-in-law, James Ersher; and sister, Joan Meade.
Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for visitation from 2- 4 pm and 6- 8 pm on Friday, May 19, 2023 at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home, 301 Curry Hollow Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15236. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, May 20, 2023 at 10:30 am Holy Angels Church, 408 Baldwin Road, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania 15207. Burial will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
