She was preceded in death by her husband of almost 50 years, Stanley S. Sams; and her parents, Joseph and Zakieh Abdo.
Azizee was born and raised in Tripoli, Lebanon. At the early age of 20, she earned a degree in political science and public relations from Lebanon University. She also earned a teaching certificate from the Lebanese Ministry of National Education and Fine Arts. In addition to her native Arabic, Azizee was fluent in French, Spanish and English. She married in November 1958 and moved to the United States, settling in Munhall.
Her desire to start a family sidetracked her plans to enroll in Pitt Law School. She raised her two children until their teen years before entering the workforce ultimately landing at the Allegheny County District Attorney's Office in 1976. Beginning as a clerk in the witness room and quickly advancing to office supervisor. Five years into her employment, Azizee became the Executive Assistant to the District Attorney, the late Robert Colville. She was talented and demonstrated that by effectively organizing all phases of the office. She was also responsible for all assistant district attorneys, investigators and staff which was close to 200 people. She was loyal to the District Attorney and moved with him to the Common Pleas Court as his tipstaff when he became a Judge. Azizee retired in 1999 and enjoyed spending time with her family, close friends, and Fino, her Bichon Frise.
She was proud to be a member of St. George Antiochian Orthodox Cathedral in Oakland. She was a beautiful and classy woman and the most loving, supportive, caring, and generous mother and sitoo (grandmother in Arabic). She was deeply loved and will be sorely missed by her family and close friends.
