Austa M. Cerqua's Obituary
Austa M. Cerqua, 84, of Baldwin, PA. passed away peacefully October 30, 2022.
Austa is survived by children Liz (Marty) Baxendell, Linda (Dennis Morrison) Lamberger, Walt (Jenny) Butler, Mark (Debbie) Butler, and Jim (Cheryl) Butler; 13 grandchildren Kristi (Joel), Michelle (Seth), Kelly (John), David (Lauren), Eli (Hailey), Levi, Emily, Alison, Dylan (Becky), Danielle, Hayley, Ryan, and Tessa; siblings Ed Reckhouse and Mary (Ed) Hilker; along with Mary Rose (Fred) Adams, Dianne (Nick) Curinga, Anthony, David, and John (Michelle) Cerqua.
Preceded in death by her parents Edna and Edmond Reckhouse, spouse John Cerqua, former spouse Paul Butler, and her brother Robert Reckhouse.
Austa, who grew up in Lawrenceville, loved traveling to the beach, especially the Outer Banks. She was a member of the Red Hats and loved square dancing, bowling, shopping, and singing. She loved to listen to all sorts of music, especially Dolly Parton. She was a longtime former employee of Sears where she worked for 25 years. Throughout the years, she met many lifelong friends, including Marlene Miller and Anita Corey.
The family would like to thank the staff at Paramount South Hills for their compassionate care of their mom.
Friends and family will be received on Tuesday, November 1, 2022 from 2 - 8 pm at the Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home, 301 Curry Hollow Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15236. A blessing service will be held on Wednesday, November 2 at 10 am in the funeral home's chapel.
