Audrey Jane Nagy's Obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Audrey Jane Nagy, 92, of West Mifflin, PA., who passed away at home on August 24, 2025. She was born in Germantown, PA on September 22, 1932 to the late William and Bessie Gass, and grew up in the Tenth Ward of McKeesport, PA.
Audrey was a proud graduate of McKeesport High School, after which she went to earn a Diploma in Nursing. She proudly worked as a Registered Nurse in the McKeesport Hospital Oncology Department for 35 years. Her time and devotion to her profession did not go unnoticed, as she made a huge difference in the lives of those she took care of. Audrey loved the Lord, and spent many years as a devoted member of the First Free Evangelical Church in McKeesport.
Audrey had a love for traveling; finding great joy in visiting new places, with a particular fondness for Edisto Beach in South Carolina. She loved the time spent in Edisto with her family, going to breakfast at the local gas station and riding in the golf cart to the candy store. Audrey also had a passion for reading with crime-related literature most often catching her attention, alongside a curiosity for the mysteries of UFOs.
Of the many joys that Audrey had, her greatest love was for her family. She cherished the time spent with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Audrey was immensely proud of her sons' military service, carrying on the patriotic spirit that she had for her country. She loved to talk about her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and all of the accomplishments they made. The love she shared with her family will carry on in their hearts forever.
Audrey is survived by her loving husband, Stephen Nagy, her three sons, Ralph (LuAnn) Briggs, Robert (Diane) Briggs and Stephen (Jody) Nagy. She was a proud grandmother (known as "Nanny") to Bethany, Kait, Kylie, Cori, Casi, Cristy, Cullen, Caelan, Catrin, Brandon, Kaitlyn and Sarah. Audrey was also a cherished great-grandmother to Jackson, Hunter, Isla and Winnie. She is also survived by her sister Barbara Freshwater, and her many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents William and Bessie Gass and her brother William Gass.
Friends and family will be received from 2-4pm and 6-8pm on Thursday, August 28, 2025 at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home, Inc., 301 Curry Hollow Road, Pleasant Hills, PA, 15236.
A Funeral Service will be held at 2pm on Friday, August 29, 2025 in the funeral home chapel.
Interment will be handled by Jefferson Memorial Park.
