Audrey Lynn Haendler, age 76, of Harrison City, PA, a beloved wife, mother, educator, and friend, passed away on October 7, 2025.
Audrey was a radiant spirit who dedicated her life not only to her family but also to the countless students she inspired during her 34 years of teaching in the Sto-Rox School District. Known for her passion and dedication, Audrey ignited a love of learning in many young minds, leaving a lasting impact that continues to resonate throughout her community.
Audrey's talents extended well beyond the classroom. A natural watercolor artist, she found joy in painting, capturing the beauty of the world around her with each brushstroke. Her love for the arts complemented her vibrant personality, which shone brightly during cherished times spent golfing with her good friend, Diane.
Audrey also shared a love for travel with her devoted husband, David, as the couple spent many summers exploring new places together, creating beautiful memories from the beaches of Ocean City to the sunny shores of Florida.
Audrey cherished her role as a grandmother, finding boundless joy in the company of her grandchildren, Leah and Aiden. Her laughter and warmth lit up their lives, just as she lit up her neighborhood during "LNO" nights, where she nurtured friendships with neighbors, cultivating a strong sense of community. She was a true people person, with an innate ability to connect deeply with those around her.
Audrey leaves behind her loving husband, David Haendler, her son, Michael (Lisa), granddaughter, Leah, and grandson, Aiden. She is also survived by close family; Jeff Hall (Bev), Zack King (Melissa), and close friend Susan Petrunya (Peter), who will carry her memory in their hearts forever.
Audrey was preceded in death by: Julie Dudash, Frank Dudash.
