Armenia Sikorski's Obituary
Armenia "Armie" Sikorski, aged 95, formerly of West Mifflin, PA, passed away peacefully on March 3, 2024. Born on August 7, 1928, in Clairton to the late Josephine (DeFlavis) and Florindo Chiappini, Armie was a beacon of light and love in the community she cherished throughout her life.
Armie was the beloved wife of the late Paul Sikorski, with whom she shared 56 years of devoted marriage. Together, they raised a family that was the center of her world. She is survived by her loving daughters, Lori (Rick) Ubinger and Paula (Gerard) Sansosti. Armie's legacy continues through her adored grandchildren, Chris (Kristin Maher) Ubinger, Kyle (Michelle) Ubinger, Abigail (Anthony) Schifano, Marcus (Nikki) Ubinger, Alexandra Sansosti, Gerard Sansosti, Quinten Sansosti, Ethan Sansosti, and Darien Sansosti, as well as her cherished great-grandchildren, Addison Ubinger, Colton Ubinger, and Evalina Schifano. She also leaves behind her dear sisters-in-law, Jean Chiappini and Dorothy Chiappini, and is predeceased by her brothers, Vincent Chiappini and Pio Chiappini.
A proud graduate of Clairton High School, Armie worked as the manager and buyer at the Children's Shop, a boutique clothing store in Clairton. She later embraced her role as a homemaker, where she shared her warmth, wisdom, and the aroma of her delicious cooking.
Armie's faith was the cornerstone of her life. She was an integral part of her church community, first at St. Paulinus Church in Wilson, PA and later at Holy Spirit in West Mifflin, PA. Her dedication shone through her service as a choir and parish council member, eucharistic minister, youth group leader, and Pre-Cana advisor. Her commitment to her faith and church community was an inspiration to all who knew her.
Beyond her church activities, Armie was a past president of the Lebanon Women's Club and holds the honor of being the longest-standing member of the 885 Card Club, where she played cards and shared laughter for the last 60 years. In recent years, she remained vibrant and engaged as a member of the Providence Point community, participating in all of their activities with enthusiasm and joy.
Armie's talents were many; she was an exceptional cook, baker, and seamstress, often hosting gatherings that showcased her skills. Her ability to entertain and create a welcoming atmosphere was second to none. She had a knack for making everyone in her presence feel special, and her home was a hub of warmth and celebration.
