Anthony P. Pishinsky, 95, of Homestead, peacefully embarked on his next adventure on October 27, 2016. He was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on April 28, 1921, to August and Catherine Pishinsky.
Anthony enjoyed 37 years of marriage to his beloved Wife Helen Pishinsky, who preceded him in death on November 21, 1984.
Anthony was a long standing member of Slovak Club in Munhall Gardens and the VFW of Whitaker.
Anthony's most favorite passions were reading and gardening. During his time in the Army, he served his country men by taking care of the sick and supervised men in his line of work. He was awarded 4 bronze stars and a WWII victory medal.
Anthony is survived by his Granddaughter, Charlene (Rich) (Tingler) Bonner; Grandson, Craig Tingler; siblings, Joseph Pishinsky, Stan Pishinsky, Steven Pishinsky, Rita Jones, Evelyn Kowalski and Pat Martin; as well as many nieces/nephews/friends.
He was preceded in death by his Father, August Pishinsky; Mother, Catherine Pishinsky; Wife, Helen H. Pishinsky; Daughter, Charlene (Pishinsky) Tingler; and siblings, Adolph Pishinsky, William Pishinsky, Frank Pishinsky, Stanley Pishinsky, Helen Geferet, Catherine Jenkins, Mildred Gedman, and Regina Pishinsky.
Friends will be received on Sunday from 2:00 pm - 8:00 pm at the Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home, 301 Curry Hollow Rd., Pleasant Hills, 15236. A blessing service will be conducted on Monday at 10 am in the funeral home's chapel. Condolences may be left at www.jeffersonmemorial.biz.
