Anthony Paul Dezort's Obituary
Anthony Paul Dezort, 87, of Baldwin passed away surrounded by his girls in his home, on Tuesday June 20, 2017.
Loving husband of 57 years to Dorothy (Conlogue) Dezort, father to Lynnie (David) Brogan, Lisa (David) Striegel, and Lesley (Ed) Lucas; beloved "Poppy" to his 8 grandchildren; Patrick Dezort, Justin Hutton, Caitlin Snyder, Bevin Orr, Eddie Lucas, Ethan Brogan, Cassie Lucas, and Lorianne Lucas, and 3 great-grandchildren. He is survived by his sister, Ruth (Bill) Phoennik.
He was preceded in death by his parents Frank and Marie (Funfar) Dezort, and brother, Richard Dezort.
Born December 7, 1929 in Pittsburgh, Tony served in the US Navy as an Engineman 3rd Class aboard the Aircraft Carrier Oriskany, during the Korean War. He resided in Green Tree with his wife where he spent 31 years at Nicholson Piling and Anchorage in Bridgeville, PA. When Tony retired in 1994 he and Dorothy moved to Port Charlotte, FL where they enjoyed 16 years of Sunshine.
Tony was a member of the American Legion Post # 823, a member of the St. Germaine Roman Catholic Church, and formerly a member of St. Margaret of Scotland Catholic Parish. He was a great bowler, an avid gardener and a big Pirate Fan.
Family and Friends will be received on Friday June 30th from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home, Inc., 301 Curry Hollow Rd, Pittsburgh 15236. A blessing service will be held on Saturday July 1st at 12 noon in the funeral home's chapel. Online condolences may be left at www.jeffersonmemorial.biz.
