Anna Marie Sprentz's Obituary
Anna Marie Sprentz, 93, died on Saturday, September 17, 2022, at the Rouse Nursing Home in Warren, Pa. after a brief illness.
She was born on June 25, 1929, in McKeesport PA, the daughter of the late Dominic and Helen (Chiappetta) Farina. She was a 1947 graduate from McKeesport High School. Marie was a McKeesport resident her entire life until she moved to the Rouse Suites in 2017 with her husband John.
She held various jobs over the course of her life. The highlight of her career was owning and operating Maria's Pizza Shop in McKeesport with her husband John. The most rewarding was taking care of her beloved family and she expressed her love by cooking Italian cuisine. Home-made Ravioli and Pizzelles were her specialty. She enjoyed the Senior Achievers at First Evangelical Free Church and was a member of the Crimson Club from the 3rd Ward in McKeesport.
Marie was a devout Christian and very active in her church. Her legacy and advice to her family was to keep the Lord Jesus Christ the center of their lives.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, John J. Sprentz who passed away in 2018, and her brother David Farina.
She is survived by her children Joe (Beth) Sprentz of Warren Pa., Joanne (Tom) Kovach of Cranberry Pa, and Jim (Shana) Sprentz of Harmony, Pa. Grandchildren Sarah (Jason) Peterson, Andrew Sprentz, Kelly (Tim) Mediate, John (Courtney) Kovach, Anthony Sprentz, Isabella Sprentz, and James Sprentz Jr. She is further survived by great grandchildren Degan and Logan Peterson, Sophia Mediate, and Kace, Callahan and Cannon Kovach.
A memorial visitation will be held at 10 am - 12 pm on Saturday, October 1, 2022 at the Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home, 301 Curry Hollow Road, Pleasant Hills PA 15236. Memorial Service to follow in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow at Jefferson Memorial Park.
