Andrew J. Pataky Jr., a man of honor, integrity, and unyielding determination, passed away peacefully on August 12, 2023, at the age of 97. Born on January 15, 1926, Andrew's life was marked by a profound sense of duty, a sharp intellect, and an unwavering love for his family.
Andrew was the beloved uncle of Jacqueline Taylor, Kathleen Taylor, Mary Jubic, Michael Pataky, Mark Pataky, and Steve Pataky. He was preceded in death by his mother, Eva Pataky, his father, Andrew Pataky Sr., and his siblings, Margaret Sabo, Marion Taylor, and Thomas Pataky.
In his early years, Andrew served his country with pride and valor in the Army /Air Force, a duty he performed with exceptional dedication and courage. His service was not just an act of patriotism, but a testament to his character, resilience, and commitment to the values he held dear.
Andrew honorably served his country in the 365th bomber, Pacific Theater, bravely undertaking 35 bombing missions over the Pacific. His bravery, commitment, and dedication to his country were truly remarkable, reflecting his resilient spirit and strong sense of duty.
Beyond his military service, Andrew was known for his keen mind and quick wit. He had an insatiable curiosity that drove him to continuously learn and grow. He was a wellspring of wisdom and knowledge, always ready to share his insights with those around him. After proudly serving his country Andrew went on to be a postman until his retirement.
Andrew J. Pataky Jr.'s life was a testament to the power of unwavering determination, the importance of family, and the value of service. Even though he is no longer with us, his spirit will continue to inspire and guide us.
Friends and family will be received from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm followed by a Blessing service in the funeral home chapel 301 Curry Hollow Rd Pittsburgh Pa 15236.
