Alton's journey through life was shared with his beloved wife of 44 years, Barbara McCullough, who stood by him as a pillar of strength and love. His commitment to the safety and well-being of the children he transported each day earned him the respect and affection of countless families in his community.
Alton was a man of many interests, each reflecting the depth and variety of his character. He had a knack for tinkering on cars, a skill he developed out of necessity but grew to love. His hands were rarely still, as woodworking provided both a creative outlet and a way to bring his imaginative ideas to life.
An avid outdoorsman, Alton found solace and joy in fishing and hunting, activities that allowed him to connect with nature and appreciate the simpler pleasures of life. His garden was a testament to his patience and care, yielding bountiful harvests that he generously shared with friends and neighbors.
Alton's legacy is one of kindness, reliability, and the quiet strength that comes from a life well-lived. He was a man who spoke through his actions, whether he was behind the wheel of his bus, casting a line into the water, or planting seeds in the fertile soil of his garden. His presence was a source of stability and comfort to those who knew him, and his absence will be deeply felt.
