Alphonse D. "Al" Carretta's Obituary
Of Baldwin Borough, on Friday, September 23, 2016, age 89. Loving husband of 65 years to Audrey (Seaman) Carretta; father of Dan (Trish) and the late Deborah (Joe survives) Alesse; beloved grandfather of Lauren (Carl) Clark, Amber Alesse, Nikki (William) Harrington, Shannon (Erich) Scheller, and Danielle Carretta; son of the late Daniel Carretta and Irene Gardone (Jacob) DelSignore; brother of Josephine (late John) Monda, Carmella (late Phil) Briggs, Jack DelSignore, Theresa (Tom) Gilfoyle, and the late Flora (late Bob) Sylvester; also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Al was an avid hunter and fisherman, but he most enjoyed spending time with his granddaughters and family. He retired in 1991 after a successful 40 year career in the plastics and plywood industry. Everyone who knew Al loved him dearly, and he will be deeply missed by all.
Family and friends will be received on Saturday, September 24 from 6-9 PM and Sunday, September 25 from 1-3 & 6-9 PM at the JEFFERSON MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, INC., 301 Curry Hollow Road, Pittsburgh 15236. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 AM on Monday, September 26 at St. Germaine Church, Bethel Park. Interment will follow at Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Canonsburg. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Family Hospice and Palliative Care (www.familyhospicepa.org/donate).
