Allan Shiflett's Obituary
Allan F. Shiflett, age 73, of Bethel Park, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 29, 2026, surrounded by the love of family. Born on February 29, 1952, Allan grew up in West Mifflin.
Allan is survived by his beloved wife, Debra Sloan-Shiflett; his son, Matthew Shiflett; and stepdaughter, Valerie Sloan. Allan was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Dorothy Shiflett.
Allan received his bachelor's degree from Slippery Rock University and went to pursue further education at Duquesne University where he received his master's in education. He had a passion for teaching and spent several years at Whitehall School District as a substitute teacher making a lasting impression on many of the students. Allan retired after a long career of over 20 years in human resources with DDI in Bridgeville.
Outside of his professional career, Allan was an avid baseball fan, never missing an opportunity to cheer on the Pirates. He was a lover of music, especially The Beatles, and enjoyed playing his guitar.
Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for a memorial visitation from 2:00 - 4:00 pm and 6:00 - 8:00 pm on Saturday, February 28, 2026, at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home, 301 Curry Hollow Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15236. Burial will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
