Alice Kay Hopkins' Obituary
Alice Kay Hopkins, of Fort Lauderdale, FL passed away on February 17, 2024.
A native of Clairton, PA, Alice graduated from Clairton High School and West Virginia Wesleyan College. She taught at Baldwin–Whitehall School District and in Fort Lauderdale. Alice was the owner of the Key West Aloe shop on Galt Ocean Mile for more than 25 years. An avid tennis player, she enjoyed decades of regular matches at the Jimmy Evert Tennis Center. She attended City Church Fort Lauderdale and also enjoyed services and worked at Christ Church Methodist Church.
A lifelong pianist, she was a church organist in high school, volunteered her talents to John Knox Village Alzheimer Unit, and entertained endless gatherings of family and friends.
She is survived by two sisters, Carolyn Beattie (late Charles) of Jefferson Borough and Linda MacDonald (late Wayne) of Castle Shannon; a brother, Kenneth L. Hopkins (Colleen) of Pleasant Hills; and several nieces and nephews.
Alice was preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth T. and Alice M. Hopkins of Clairton, PA.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, March 23rd at 12 P.M. at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home, 301 Curry Hollow Road Pittsburgh, PA 15236.
Inurnment will follow at Jefferson Memorial Park.
