Albert "Poppy" Morrone's Obituary
Age 90, of Baldwin peacefully embarked on his next adventure on January 7, 2019.
Albert is survived by his loving children, Peggy (Bill) Hurley, Chris Morden, Terri (George) Shreeves, Dan (Mary Ann) Morrone and Mary Morrone. Cherished Poppy of 13 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Brother of Dot Straka, Gerry Karcher, Cathy Motznik, and Sue Armstrong; as well as many nieces, nephews, and the multitude of friends he considered family.
He was preceded in death by his wife, of 55 years, Kathryn "Kitty" Morrone; parents; Albert, Sr. and Catherine Morrone; son, Tom Morrone; and great-grandson, Alex Kuhns Walker.
Al was always busy, he loved bowling, working the church bingo, spring o rama, and became an ambassador at Atria, his second family. Most knew him as Al Morrone the Sewing Machine Man and not many got by him without becoming his friend. Most of all he loved his family and he will be forever loved and kept close in their hearts.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 10, 2019 from 2 to 8 pm at the Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home, Inc., 301 Curry Hollow Road, Pittsburgh. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, January 11, 2019 at 10:30 am at St. Elizabeth's of Hungary, 1 Grove Place, Pittsburgh. Condolences may be left at www.jeffersonmemorial.biz.
