Alan Meden's Obituary
Alan Meden, age 71, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 25, 2023 at Jefferson Hospital. He was born on November 16, 1951, in Johnstown, PA, the son of the late Frank and Catherine (Duca) Meden.
Alan was the beloved husband to Darlene (Franchi) Meden; loving father of Alina (Dave) Vargo, Lia Meden, and Falco Meden; and the brother of Regina (Jim) Mehallick and Brian (Jeanne) Meden. Alan also leaves several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and extended family members.
Alan grew up in Beaverdale, PA, and graduated from Forest Hills High School. Following his graduation from high school, Alan went on to attend University of Pittsburgh. Alan received his doctorate from Pennsylvania College of Straight Chiropractic in the Greater Philadelphia area. He passionately served the Pleasant Hills community for 40 years through his office Meden Chiropractic.
In his free time, Alan enjoyed hiking, especially at Laurel Highlands and Ohiopyle, working out at the gym, and driving his stick shift Mazda RX-8. He was a connoisseur of wine and coffee, enjoying his Thursday morning cappuccino at La Prima Espresso. Alan was always willing to lend a helping hand in the kitchen, from grill master to pasta-making assistant. He was an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Penguins.
Above all, he was a family man. Alan cherished the moments spent and memories made beside his family, whom he adored. He will be remembered as a loving and dedicated husband and father.
Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for visitation on Sunday, October 29, 2023 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home, 301 Curry Hollow Rd., Pittsburgh, PA 15236. A service will be held in the chapel at the funeral home on Monday, October 30, 2023 at 10:00 am. Burial will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
