Aja Lee Firestone's Obituary
Aja Lee Firestone passed away peacefully in her home, surrounded by her loving family on September 2, 2024, in White Oak, PA, at the age of 42. Born on January 26, 1982, in Pittsburgh, PA, Aja was a vibrant soul whose enthusiasm for life touched everyone she met.
Aja was the beloved wife to Timothy Sobota, with whom she shared a life full of adventure and love, along with their cherished dog babies, Fat Andy and Beans. She was the treasured daughter of Scott and Carole Firestone and held a special place in her heart for her Sisters-of-the-Heart, Carrie and Kate. Aja's joy was multiplied by her special little ones, Myles and Tessa, and she was a valued member of the Hillmar family circle.
Aja's academic journey was marked by her dedication and passion. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Business and Communications from Gannon University, where she also made her mark in the Phi Sigma Sigma Sorority, Theta Gamma chapter, serving as Social Chair, Scribe, and Vice President. Her commitment to leadership and excellence continued as she pursued her Master of Science in Organizational Leadership from Robert Morris University. Her time in school was distinguished by numerous accolades, including the Unsung Sister Award, Spirit Award, Sister of the Year, and the Gannon University Greek Woman of the Year.
An explorer at heart, Aja's interests were as vast as the world itself. She often said, "There are few things I've met that I didn't want to try!" True to her word, Aja immersed herself in a variety of activities. She had a passion for traveling, discovering new cultures, and savoring the flavors of international cuisines through her cooking. Her artistic side shone through in her gardening, painting, and writing, each a testament to her creative spirit. Cycling, however, was Aja's true escape. She described it as magical, being able to get on her bike and go.
As we bid farewell to Aja Lee Firestone, we celebrate a life lived to the fullest, a journey marked by passion, kindness, and an unwavering zest for new experiences. Her spirit will continue to inspire us, reminding us to embrace life with open arms and to find magic in the everyday.
