Ground Burial
At Jefferson, we have 41 gardens open for traditional ground burial graves with differing landscapes, artwork and features. These gardens can accommodate both single and double depth burial.
Single
Each single depth grave space has the option for one casketed burial plus one cremation or infant burial on top. Alternatively, single depth can include two cremations. All single depth graves are sold with one burial right. When a second burial right is added (a cremation on top or infant burial) a second right’s burial fee is incurred.
Double
For double depth burials we have 4 lawn crypt sections to choose from. Lawn crypts refer to a traditional single grave space with a double depth outer burial container, ideal for loved ones who do not wish to be parted, even in their final resting place. Lawn crypts are also a very cost effective burial option as you are using one space and one burial vault instead of two separate spaces and two separate burial vaults.
Outer Burial Container
An outer burial container, more commonly referred to as a burial vault, is required for each ground interment. The original purpose of a burial vault was to prevent the weight of earth from crushing down onto the casket. You may have seen old cemeteries where the surface of the graves has sunk because there was not a burial vault to prevent it. Burial vaults can cost between $688 and $14,700.

It is the first step of creating a lasting tribute for the present generation to pass on to future generations. you may choose a traditional ground burial, indoor/outdoor mausoleum, niche or even your mantel at home. We believe your loved one should be honored and remembered. Our dedicated staff will help guide you every step of the way.
Adult Bronze Memorials
All of Jefferson Memorial’s gardens have bronze memorials instead of tombstones. Our memorials are tablets of bronze mounted on granite or concrete bases. They include the name of your loved on as well as any engraved images or emblems you would like memorialized.
Cremation Bronze Memorials
A variety of memorials are available including: small cremation memorials, individual memorials, companion memorials, for couples and larger, and triple memorials to mark 3 graves. We offer a wide variety of colors and designs to choose from.
Personal Memorial Benches
Custom memory benches have become a popular addition to personal memorializations. All benches are made of enduring granite and are available in a variety of shapes, colors and sizes. Many unique benches, some with statues, are available and are priced upon request.
Special Memorialization
You may have the desire to memorialize in a more personalized way. Throughout the cemetery you will find examples of such devotion. Each inquiry is personally handled and customized to the clients wishes and may include special memorialization in our Pets & People section. These and other unique memorialization items are priced individually upon request.

Who repairs Sunken markers?
If you report this condition to the cemetery office at (412) 655-4500 (option 1) we will see that it is lifted and reset. Any marker that is cracked or damaged will be repaired through the cemetery's endowment care fund on behalf of the family.
Second Right’s Fee
All graves are sold with one burial right. Traditionally, single depth grave spaces hold one casket burial. However, at Jefferson Memorial each single depth grave space has the option to include one casketed burial plus one cremation. Alternatively, single grave space can include two cremations. When a second burial is to be added, a second right burial fee is incurred, thus giving you the opportunity to keep loved ones together.
