Jefferson Memorial Cemetery, Funeral Home and Crematory is humbled and honored to be selected as a winner of the Pittsburgh Business Times 2016 Family Business Awards. Honoring the Pittsburgh region’s proud tradition of long-running family business, Jefferson Memorial will be a recipient of the 2016 Family Business Awards on May 11th. The Pittsburgh Business Times recognizes multi-generational, family-owned businesses in the region for overall excellence, innovation, ethics and philanthropy. Winners were selected by an independent panel of judges and we are so thrilled and truly excited to be a part of such a long running Pittsburgh tradition. Jefferson Memorial currently employs it's 4th generation of family workers: President and CEO Harry C. Neel, a 3rd generation owner, Dagny Neel Fitzpatrick and Whitney Neel, the 4th generation working in both the Cemetery and Funeral Home and first female members to join the family business. Jefferson Memorial has been operating since 1929 and is one of the largest, privately owned cemeteries in the United States thanks to the innovation and vision of 2nd generation owner and operator, John D. Neel. Thank you to the families we have served and to the community for continuing to support our business. We will continue to strive to make sure Jefferson Memorial remains a one of a kind and unique site.
